The Clearwater Bar Association membership year is July 1 through June 30.
Regular Attorney
An attorney in good standing with The Florida Bar.
State Attorney & Public Defenders
A full-time attorney with State Attorney or Public Defender’s office
Newly Admitted Attorney
An attorney admitted to The Florida Bar after July 1, 2023.
Associate Attorney
A Florida Bar attorney not engaged in the practice of law (e.g. retired, academic, inactive, etc.) and non-Florida Bar attorneys licensed in another state. Entitled to all membership privileges, except the right to vote and hold office.
Law & Paralegal Student
Member rate for CLE events, opportunities to be in Res Ipsa, attend luncheons or Oyster Roast as member guest, volunteer at events, and for paralegal students to attend paralegal-related events.
Reciprocal Membership
For regular members of the Hillsborough County, St. Petersburg, West Pasco, or Fred G. Minnis Bar Associations. Includes all benefits of membership except free luncheons, the right to vote or to hold office. For these benefits pay “regular” dues.
Paralegal
Includes attendance at CBA Paralegal Section events. Receives CBA Member rate for CLE events. Invited to submit articles for consideration in Res Ipsa. As a guest of a CBA member, can attend Membership Luncheons and Oyster Roast. Also, may volunteer at special events (preauthorized) including Annual Golf Classic and Oyster Roast. Not eligible to vote or hold office.
Non-Attorney Collaborative Law Member
For non-attorney professionals who are not admitted to the Florida Bar but are Certified Financial Advisors, Certified Public Accountants or Psychologists (PhDs). Membership includes attendance to Collaborative Law Section meetings and Socials and select section events *Family Law.
Honorary Members
Any individual who has been duly elected or appointed as a judge of any court of record in a district or circuit, either state or federal, in which Clearwater, Florida is located and who has elected not to become or continue as a member of this Association, may be designated as an honorary member. Such individuals shall have no obligation to pay dues and shall not be entitled to otherwise participate in the affairs of this Association. Nothing contained herein shall be construed to prevent a member of the judiciary from being a regular or lifetime member.
